Diamond Bicycles is a brand that was founded by Western States Imports in 1977 in Newbury Park, California. Initially, the company focused on BMX bikes, but in 1990, it started selling mountain and road bicycles under the Diamondback brand. In 1993, Diamondback Bicycles was acquired by Derby Cycle Corporation, and the company merged Raleigh and Diamondback to create Diamondback Racing (DBR). DBR introduced several innovations to the industry, including full-suspension mountain bikes, hardtail mountain bikes, kids' mountain bikes, adventure & gravel bikes, city bikes, and e-bikes. The company also markets mountain and road pedals. In 1999, Derby Cycle Corporation was acquired by Raleigh Bicycle Company, but by 2001, both Raleigh and Diamondback were sold to Accell Group. In August 2019, Diamondback was sold to Regent, L.P. While Diamondback bicycles are primarily mid-range, the company has developed a new range of high-end prototypes that are sold in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and other countries. Diamondback is known for its innovative designs and high-quality components, making it a popular choice among cycling enthusiasts. Wikipedia
