MAFAC is a French manufacturer of high-quality bicycle brakes and tool kits that was founded in 1947 under the name Securite. In the 1950s to 1970s, MAFAC became a popular brand for its center-pull brakes, such as the Racer, Top 63, GT, and Raid, which were designed to be easily compatible with fenders, handlebar bags, front rack mounts, and larger tires. The company's cantilever brakes were also popular among cyclo-cross riders and early mountain bikers. In 1981, MAFAC's cantilever brakes were featured on the Specialized Stumpjumper mountain bike. In addition to brakes, MAFAC also offers a range of tool kit models, including the Constructor with six tools, the Touriste with seven tools, and the Randonneur with ten tools. Despite its strong competition and reliable brakes, MAFAC eventually disappeared from the market due to various factors. Wikipedia
