Yeti cycles were established in 1984 by John Parker in CO. The company came into existence when a sleeping bag company registered under the same name went bankrupt. John Parker and several partners founded the bicycle company under the name Yeti. The company was sold to Scott Sports Group for approximately 2 million dollars in 1995. Over the years, the company designed cutting-edge bikes explicitly for racers. Their continuous R&D and testing gave them the knowledge to develop frames and suspensions that quickly outpaced every other manufacturer. Besides bikes, Yeti also successfully developed some of the most widely recognized race teams in mountain biking.
